
Karachi: A significant shift in weather patterns is imminent across Pakistan, as authorities warn of intense rainfall, powerful winds, and thunderstorms expected to impact multiple regions, including Karachi.
According to the Meteorological Department, Karachi will witness partly cloudy skies today, accompanied by a slight rise in temperature.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.5°C, while the current temperature stands at 25°C. The maximum temperature is likely to range between 30°C and 32°C.
With humidity soaring at 84%, the city is likely to experience oppressive, muggy conditions, while winds continue to blow from the west at 7 km/h.
Officials have cautioned that a strong western weather system will enter southwestern Balochistan from the evening of March 24, setting the stage for a wave of unstable and potentially severe weather conditions.
Under its influence, Karachi is bracing for thunderstorms, gusty winds, and widespread rainfall from March 25 to 29, with hailstorms expected in isolated areas.
Nationwide Impact Intensifies:
The Meteorological Department has issued a countrywide alert, forecasting intermittent yet intense rain spells, dust storms, and thunderstorms from March 24 to 30.
Balochistan: Regions including Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Kalat, and Quetta are likely to face heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms between March 24–25 and 27–29, with risks of torrential downpours and hailstorms.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Rainstorms and thunderous weather activity are expected from March 25–26 and 28–30, with snowfall in mountainous regions and possible hail.
Punjab & Islamabad: Major cities including Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan are set to experience stormy conditions, heavy winds, and rain spells, with hailstorms in isolated areas.
Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir: Rain and snowfall over higher altitudes are expected, with warnings of intense weather episodes and hail in some المناطق.
Sindh: Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Dadu, Kashmore, Jacobabad, and Larkana are forecast to receive rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms on March 25–26 and 28–29, with localized hailstorms.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain highly vigilant, warning that powerful winds, dust storms, and hail may severely damage weak structures, uproot trees, and disrupt power systems.
