US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to engage in serious negotiations immediately. Speaking at a cabinet meeting, he claimed that Iran’s military capabilities have been largely destroyed and that the country is now “begging” for a deal.
Trump asserted that 90% of Iran’s missile systems have been destroyed, and that US forces have neutralized Iranian drones, navy, air force, and radar systems. Several factories producing drones and missiles were also targeted. He claimed that without US intervention, Iran could have developed nuclear weapons in just two weeks, and that B-2 bombers were used to strike Iranian nuclear facilities.
Criticizing previous agreements, Trump described the Obama-era deal with Iran as “the worst deal” and said Iran is now pleading with the US for a new arrangement. He, however, did not clarify whether a new deal will be finalized, calling himself a “great negotiator.”
Trump also criticized NATO countries for not supporting during the conflict with Iran, labeling them “paper tigers.” He added that Gulf countries chose neutrality, yet Iran still targeted them. According to Trump, Iran had planned to dominate the Middle East before the war, and he argued that action against Iran should have been taken 47 years ago.
