Trump issues stern warning to Iran over Strait of Hormuz closure

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened, “no bridges will remain” in the country.

Speaking to the media in Washington, Trump emphasized that the United States has already executed “first, second, and third regime changes” and stressed that US proposals are crucial for a deal. He added that the war could end immediately if Iran complies with US demands.

Addressing CNN’s poll suggesting he lost a war, Trump dismissed the notion, stating he had not lost. He further warned that, if necessary, the US could seize Iranian oil.

Trump also said that negotiators in Iran are now more reasonable, and the US is in talks with knowledgeable individuals inside the country.

He criticized those supporting Iran, calling them “fools,” and reiterated that the US seeks victory in Iran.

Meanwhile, Tehran has formally responded to US proposals via Pakistan, making it clear that discussions will only take place under conditions of permanent peace and the lifting of sanctions.

Iran outlined its demands, which include the removal of all economic sanctions, reconstruction of war-affected areas, and resolution of all regional disputes.
