HANGU: At least three policemen including senior officer were martyred on Friday as twin blasts hit Hangu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
An explosion near the vehicle of Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Asad Zubair in Hangu martyred the cops and injured several others on Friday, police said.
District Police Officer Khanzeb Mohmand confirmed the deaths, adding that the wounded were shifted to DHQ Hospital Hangu.
This was the second explosion reported in the day.
Earlier, according to police, an explosion occurred beside a police checkpoint in Ghulmina and was caused by explosive material planted in the area.
A room near the checkpoint was destroyed in the blast. Police said unknown individuals had planted the device.
