‘The Masked Singer’ crowns its winner for season 14

The Masked Singer has officially crowned its season 14 champion, revealing Galaxy Girl’s identity as Ashlee Simpson.
The finale aired on April 1, with Simpson winning the Golden Mask trophy after impressing judges with performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s Good 4 U and Pink’s Try.
Her identity had been speculated ahead of the reveal, especially after her sister, Jessica Simpson, appeared during the finale to deliver a clue and referenced Ashlee’s debut album Autobiography.
Simpson beat a strong lineup in the final, with Phillip Phillips finishing as runner-up as Pugcasso. Kylie Cantrall placed third as Cat Witch, followed by Normani in fourth as Crane.
After the win, Simpson called the experience both exciting and nerve-wracking. She noted how contestants must stay performance-ready at all times due to the unpredictable eliminations.
“Yes. So you kind of have to keep your makeup going to look good under that mask, because you don’t know what day you’re leaving. And you really get nervous. I was like, ‘Okay, did I do okay? I don’t know.’ And that was kind of the exciting part,” she told People in an interview.
She added, “Every episode you get to go to the next one was like, ‘I made it. Okay. How am I going to make this next one good?'”
She also shared that strict rules prevented her from interacting with her husband, Evan Ross, who also competed earlier in the season.
“He was amazing. And it’s actually funny, we weren’t allowed to see each other at all. There are major rules, which was so interesting, because you’re like, “How was your performance?” He killed it and he really had the moves. Stingray had the moves.”
The victory marks another milestone in Simpson’s return to the spotlight after her recent Las Vegas residency. She has also hinted at new music on the way and her plans ahead. “New music is definitely to come,” when asked if an album or tour is on the way.
“I want to dip my toes back into acting as well, and I’d love to do some musical theater, but just to definitely keep going, performing, and doing what I love doing,” she revealed.
Simpson is also set to do both Stagecoach and OUTLOUD Music Festival at WeHo Pride in Los Angeles.
The Masked Singer season 14 finale aired on Fox.
