LAHORE: During the ongoing crackdown against gas pilferers, SNGPL continued raids in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, disconnecting another 150 connections while 345 under-billing cases processed and imposed Rs 10.67 million fines on gas pilferers.
According to the SNGPL spokesman, in Lahore, the regional team disconnected 20 connections on illegal use of gas and another 5 on the use of a compressor, and 90 billing cases have been processed. The team also imposed a fine of Rs 2.38 million against gas theft and under-billing cases. In Bahawalpur, the company disconnected 33 connections for illegal use while 13 billing cases have been processed and an amount of Rs 0.43 million booked against gas pilferers. The regional team in Multan disconnected 3 connections on illegal use of gas while another six on the use of a compressor,98 billing cases have been processed. The team imposed a fine of Rs 0.18 million against gas pilferes.
In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnected 26 connections on account of direct use of gas and illegal use of gas while 10 under-billing cases have been processed an amount of Rs 1.00 million against gas theft and under-billing cases. The team lodged 4 FIRs against gas thieves.
The team in Gujranwala removed one connection on the illegal use of gas.
In Sahiwal, 2 connections were disconnected for the illegal use of gas, and a 0.01 fine was imposed for gas theft. In Faisalabad, 15 under-billing cases were processed and 7 connections were disconnected for the illegal use of gas and two for the use of a compressor, and an amount of Rs 0.12 was booked against gas pilferers.
In Sheikhupura the teams disconnected 38 connections on illegal use of gas three on the use of a compressor and 85 under billing cases processed.
The regional team removed two connections on the use of the compressor in Sargodha.
