Sindh Rangers arrested four suspected members of a street crime gang in Karachi, according to a press release issued by the force’s headquarters on April 6.
The statement said the suspects — Saeed ur Rehman, alias Kumandan, Sabir alias Sheena, Ikram alias Akro, and Akash alias Punjabi — were detained during an intelligence-based operation in Gulshan Ghazi, Baldia Town. They are accused of involvement in “multiple incidents of robbery and street crime” in Baldia Town, Gulshan Ghazi, and 24 Market.
According to the Rangers, Saeed ur Rehman, “the head of the Kumandan gang”, was responsible for “providing weapons for robberies”. At the same time, other members carried out crimes under his supervision. The statement added that “the looted money was brought to the gang leader, who would then distribute it among members”.
Officials said the suspects “can be clearly seen in CCTV footage” recorded during the incidents and described them as “habitual offenders” who had previously been arrested and jailed.

The press release added that raids are ongoing to apprehend other members of the group, while the arrested suspects have been handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
The Rangers also appealed to the public to report criminal activity to the nearest Rangers check post, call the Rangers helpline 1101, or send information via WhatsApp to 0347-9001111. “Identities of informants will be kept confidential,” they said.
