Shab-e-Barat observed tonight across the country

Millions of Muslims observe the Night of Forgiveness with prayers, charity, and reflection after Maghrib.

Muslims across the nation are observing Shab-e-Barat tonight, commencing after Maghrib prayers, in one of the most spiritually significant nights of the Islamic calendar. The night, falling on the 15th of Sha’ban, is dedicated to prayers, reflection, and seeking divine forgiveness.

Worshippers are engaging in Quranic recitations, voluntary prayers (Nafl), and heartfelt supplications, seeking mercy and blessings for themselves and their families. Many believers also visit graveyards to remember departed loved ones, a practice steeped in tradition and reverence.

Recognised as the Night of Forgiveness Shab-e-Barat underscores introspection, repentance, and spiritual renewal in anticipation of Ramadan. Religious scholars emphasise its profound significance, encouraging the faithful to embody compassion, humility, and piety.

Communities are also participating in acts of charity and service, distributing food and extending support to the less fortunate, reflecting the night’s ethos of generosity and benevolence. Mosques nationwide have arranged extended night prayers, allowing devotees to engage in sustained worship.

Shab-e-Barat continues to unite Muslims across South Asia, the Middle East, and beyond, offering a moment for collective devotion and spiritual fortification.
