Shab-e-Barat celebrated with religious devotion and reverence

Last night, Muslims across the country marked Shab-e-Barat, a night of profound spiritual significance, marked by devotion, prayer, and divine blessings.

Occurring on the 14th and 15th of Shaa’ban, this sacred night is a time for seeking forgiveness, reflection, and supplication, with many believing it to be a night when destinies are decreed for the coming year.

The faithful gathered at mosques following Isha prayers to offer special supplications that continued into the early hours of Fajr. Prayers were offered for peace, prosperity, and the protection of the country.

Attention was also given to those suffering in conflict zones, particularly in Palestine, Kashmir, and Syria, with numerous prayers for the alleviation of their hardships, and for the relief and well-being of Muslims enduring challenges in health, wealth, and other aspects of life.

In addition to mosque prayers, many individuals and families visited the graves of their loved ones, reciting prayers and making heartfelt duas for the forgiveness and eternal peace of the deceased. The atmosphere was one of solemn reflection, as communities came together to honour their ancestors and seek divine mercy.

The streets, homes, and mosques were beautifully decorated with colourful pennants and buntings, enhancing the festive yet reverent spirit of the night.

Religious leaders delivered sermons that highlighted the core teachings of Islam, with Mahafil-e-Naat held in various locations to further commemorate the occasion.

Special security measures were implemented across the country to ensure the peaceful observance of Shab-e-Barat, allowing the faithful to engage in worship and reflection in a safe and secure environment.
