Sahibzada Farhan named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026

Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has proudly been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026, following a sensational display of batting brilliance during the T20 World Cup, bringing pride and joy to the entire nation.

Despite Pakistan’s early exit from the tournament Farhan emerged as the undisputed star of the competition, scoring a tournament-high 383 runs in just six innings at an outstanding average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25.

The 29-year-old’s campaign featured two centuries and two half-centuries, making him the first batter to score multiple hundreds in a single T20 World Cup edition while also surpassing Virat Kohli’s long-standing record for the most runs in a single tournament.

Farhan’s remarkable consistency saw him record scores of 47, 73, 0, 100, did not bat, 63, and 100* across seven matches, earning him a well-deserved spot in the ICC Team of the Tournament.

Reflecting on his achievement, Farhan said:

“It is an incredible honour to receive this ICC award, especially for performances on the World Cup stage, where fans from around the world are watching. This tournament is one I will always cherish, and I am determined to carry this momentum forward in future series. I am deeply grateful to my teammates for their unwavering support – this achievement would not have been possible without them.”

His phenomenal run also propelled him to a career-best second position in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following his century against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.

This prestigious recognition marks Farhan’s first ICC Player of the Month award, making him the first Pakistan men’s cricketer to receive the honour since Haris Rauf in November 2024, further cementing his place in the country’s cricketing history.
