Prince William reunites with old pal in South Africa as Kate stays in UK

Prince William appeared delighted as was seen laughing and playing rugby with school children during his South Africa trip.

The Prince of Wales, who is in Cape Town for Earthshot week and for the fourth award ceremony of the initiative, is not joined by his wife, Kate Middleton, who completed her cancer treatment in September.

In a carousel post shared by the office of Prince and Princess of Wales, highlights from the game on Monday showed William enthusiastically interacting with the players.

The future king also reunited with an old acquaintance, former rugby player, Tendai ‘The Beast’ Mtawarira, whom he first met after Wales played the Springboks in 2014.

“Joining students from Ocean View, Masiphumelele and Langa Townships taking part in rugby coaching and digital skills classes with the support of @theatlascharity,” the caption alongside the post read.

“Great to also be joined by Springbok legends Joel Stransky, Percy Montgomery and The Beast to see how these programmes use the power of sport to transform the lives of these amazing young people.”

The visit was held by The Atlas Foundation charity which takes rugby to kids living in poverty.

William had kicked off the trip by meeting 120 future leaders and change-makers from Africa and Asia focused on finding solutions to “repair the planet”.
