Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha breaks 26-year-old world record

Pakistan’s T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has shattered a 26-year-old world record previously held by former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.

In 2025, the Pakistan cricket team has played 54 international matches, and remarkably, Salman Ali Agha has featured in all of them. This achievement makes him the cricketer who has played the most international matches in a single year.

He secured this milestone on Sunday during the tri-nation T20 series match against Zimbabwe. By playing 54 matches this year, Salman Ali Agha surpassed Rahul Dravid’s record of 53 international matches, set in 1999.

In addition, former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf had also represented the Green Shirts in 53 international matches in the year 2000.

Notably, Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by 69 runs in the tri-nation T20 series yesterday, qualifying for the final.
