One killed, multiple injured in Islamabad vehicle explosion

ISLAMABAD: A powerful explosion occurred in a vehicle parked at the courthouse parking area in G-11 sector of Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon. The blast, reported around 12:30 PM, was heard from a distance.

The explosion ignited a fire in the parking area, engulfing nearby vehicles. Initial reports indicate that the blast was caused by a cylinder installed in the vehicle, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others, including lawyers and civilians.

Police said the courthouse area was busy at the time. The injured were immediately shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences(PIMS) Hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that investigations have been launched, with initial findings suggesting it was a cylinder explosion.
