Nehal Hashmi to take oath as 35th Governor of Sindh today

The approval was given on the advice of Prime Minister under Articles 48 and 101 of the Constitution.

According to officials at the Governor House Sindh, the oath will be administered by Zafar Ahmed Rajput, the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court. The oath-taking ceremony will take place at the Governor House at 4:00 PM today.

Officials said that strict security arrangements will be in place around the Governor House during the ceremony.

Nehal Hashmi belongs to Karachi and is known as a lawyer and politician. He previously served as a member of the Senate of Pakistan from March 2015 to February 2018.

During his student years, Hashmi founded a political organization called the All Pakistan Youth League. He formally entered politics in the 1990s, and in 1992 he joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N).

Earlier on Thursday, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of Nihal Hashmi as the new Governor of Sindh.

The approval was given on the advice of the Prime Minister under Articles 48 and 101 of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Nehal is considered one of the loyal and long-standing leaders of the party and has played a key role in organizing the party in Karachi.

President Zardari and PM Shehbaz felicitated to Nehal Hashmi on the appointment as governor of Sindh .
