The 98th Academy Awards air March 15 on ABC and Hulu with Conan O’Brien hosting and ‘Sinners’ leading nominations

The 98th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, 15 March, bringing together nominees, presenters and performers for one of the film industry’s most recognised annual ceremonies.

The 2026 Oscars will begin at 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT, with red carpet coverage starting earlier at 3:30 pm ET / 12:30 pm PT. The ceremony will broadcast on ABC and will also stream live on Hulu, including through a basic ad-supported subscription that normally does not include live television programming.

This year’s ceremony will again be hosted by comedian and television presenter Conan O’Brien, marking his second consecutive year leading the event.

Among the nominees, the film Sinners leads the field with 16 nominations, setting a new record for the highest number of nominations in Oscars history. One Battle After Another follows with 13 nominations. Other films receiving multiple nominations include Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, Sentimental Value and Hamnet.

Several well-known actors and industry figures are scheduled to present awards during the broadcast. The list includes Adrien Brody, Mikey Madison, Kieran Culkin, Zoe Saldaña, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani, Maya Rudolph, Will Arnett, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway, Paul Mescal and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Musical performances during the ceremony will feature two of the nominated songs. The track “Golden” from K-Pop Demon Hunters will be performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, who are known collectively as the voices behind the fictional group HUNTR/X. The song “I Lied To You” from Sinners will also be performed, featuring Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq.

Members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are responsible for voting on the awards. Academy members vote for Best Picture and also cast ballots within their respective professional categories, including acting, directing, writing and producing.

The Best Picture nominees for the 2026 Academy Awards include Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, Sinners and Train Dreams.

Other notable nominations include Timothee Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan and Wagner Moura for Actor in a Leading Role. In the Actress in a Leading Role category, nominees include Jessie Buckley, Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Renate Reinsve and Emma Stone.

The ceremony will conclude the 2026 awards season, celebrating achievements in filmmaking across acting, directing, writing, technical craft and production categories.
