From Dubai to Jhelum: British YouTuber Tracks Down Stolen AirPods in Wild Cross-Border Retrieval”
By Zubair Mehmood
In a story that sounds more like the plot of a spy thriller than real life, a British YouTuber has managed to do what many thought was impossible—track down and retrieve his stolen AirPods Pro nearly a year after they vanished in Dubai, all the way from a small city in Pakistan.
Lord Miles Routledge, known online as “Lord Miles Official,” had tweeted months ago that his AirPods Pro were stolen while traveling in Dubai. Most people would have given up. Not Miles. Instead, he activated Apple’s Find My feature and kept tabs on his long-lost Bluetooth buddies—watching them hop borders and eventually settle in an unexpected location: Jhelum, a quiet city nestled in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
“I saw them chilling near a place called 2nd Wife Restaurant in Jhelum,” said Miles in his Twitter update, half-joking, half-shocked. “Guess who’s going to Pakistan next week to get his property back!”
And true to his word, he did just that.
Armed with screenshots, satellite tracking, and a hint of James Bond energy, Miles boarded a flight, landed in Pakistan, and coordinated with the local police in Jhelum. The mission? Reclaim what was rightfully his. What followed was a bizarre but successful retrieval operation that ended with Miles holding his AirPods like a victorious war trophy, standing beside a Pakistani police officer in an image that has now gone viral.
“Bro really crossed borders for Bluetooth,” one user commented on the trending post shared by Pakistan Presenter on Facebook.
The incident has caught global attention—not just because of the audacity and humor behind it, but also for the unexpected praise it’s bringing to Apple’s location-tracking tech and Pakistan’s local police, who acted swiftly and professionally.
In one image now circulating on social media, Miles is seen shaking hands with the Jhelum Police while holding his AirPods in the other hand like it’s a medal of honor. Another photo shows him pointing dramatically at the now-famous earbuds.
From Biryani to weddings, Pakistan has seen many types of foreign visitors—but this might be the first time someone flew in specifically for a Bluetooth device.
“I came for my AirPods. Left with a story I’ll be telling for life,” Miles joked in another post.
What started as a petty theft in the Middle East turned into a global scavenger hunt involving tech, international travel, and some serious determination. The saga not only ended with a successful recovery but gave the internet a new folk hero.
And maybe—just maybe—it’ll make thieves think twice next time.
