
Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan to review the security situation along the western border, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the visit, the Field Marshal was briefed on the overall security environment, operational preparedness, intelligence-based operations, and border management measures. He was also given a detailed briefing on Operation “Ghazab-lil-Haq” and the situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The Chief of Defence Forces paid tribute at the Martyrs’ Memorial, where he laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha. He described the sacrifices of the martyrs as the foundation of Pakistan’s security and stability.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also met officers and soldiers deployed at forward positions. He appreciated their professionalism, high morale, and vigilance in safeguarding the country’s frontiers.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to national security and regional peace, he stated that terrorism from Afghan soil against Pakistan is unacceptable. He vowed that all necessary measures would be taken to eliminate threats emanating from across the border.
The Field Marshal emphasized that lasting peace is only possible if the Afghan Taliban renounce terrorism and cease support for terrorist organizations. He also expressed confidence in the combat readiness of formations deployed along the Pak-Afghan border.
Upon his arrival in Wana, the Corps Commander Peshawar received the Chief of Defence Forces, ISPR added.
