Fakhar reveals Pakistan’s mindset as T20 World Cup 2024 nears – SUCH TV

Fakhar Zaman on Friday revealed the mindset of the Pakistan cricket team saying that they are capable of beating any team in the world as the Green Shirts prepare for the second T20I against England which will be played at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

Fakhar, who is part of Pakistan’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, argued that the Pakistani team possess the strength to beat any team in the world as the mindset is clear and every player is aware of his role.

“Everything is set for the World Cup, people say a lot of things on the media,” Fakhar said during a presser on Friday. “Me and every player know about his role. We are strong enough to beat anyone in the world.

“As a team, we are clear in our mindset that we have to play attacking cricket and we know that only with this mindset, we have a chance [to win the World Cup]. If we are batting first [in any match], then we know we have to score 200 or more.”

He then added that his goal is to help the team by playing attacking cricket regardless of how many runs he manages to score and how the team planned to change its strategy after losing the first T20I against Ireland.

“My role is to play aggressive and attacking cricket, whether I score 10 runs or a fifty, it should benefit the team. You will see in the World Cup that how much our mindset has changed,” he added.

“After losing the first T20I against Ireland, we met and decided to make a new plan. Playing against a full-strength England side would be crucial before the World Cup.”

Zaman also defended his teammate and wicketkeeper batter Azam Khan after a journalist pinned nepotism allegations on the 25-year-old.

Azam, a son of former Pakistani wicketkeeper Moin Khan, has often been accused of being a nepotism product but Fakhar denounced the claims and urged the journalist to do research before questioning Azam’s struggles.

“I can also say that you have come here by recommendation, but it would be a good thing if you see how a player has come, how much struggle he has gone through. In my opinion, you should also come after doing a little research first,” Fakhar said to the journalist.
