Did Bruno Mars unfollow Rosé? Fans scrutinise social media after ‘APT.’ Grammys snub

Fans questioned whether Bruno Mars unfollowed Rosé after their Grammys loss but the online claims do not add up

Speculation surrounding Bruno Mars and BLACKPINK’s Rosé intensified after the pair failed to win any awards at the 2026 Grammy Awards, prompting fans to closely examine their social media activity amid rumours of a fallout.

The duo opened the ceremony with their collaboration “APT,” one of the most commercially successful tracks of the past year. Despite strong chart performance and widespread visibility, the song did not receive a Grammy, leading to frustration among some fans and renewed scrutiny of Rosé’s frequent association with artists who later miss out on awards.

Within hours of the ceremony, claims began circulating online that Mars had unfollowed or blocked Rosé on Instagram. Screenshots shared on X appeared to show Rosé posting an emotional message while Mars’s profile was allegedly inaccessible, fuelling theories of tension between the two performers.

The narrative quickly unravelled. Fans who checked the accounts directly pointed out that Bruno Mars and Rosé have never followed each other on Instagram. As a result, there was no unfollowing to observe, rendering the screenshots misleading. Several fan-run accounts documented the lack of any previous follow history between the artists, undermining the claims.

As the social media theory lost traction, attention shifted to brief clips from the Grammys broadcast. Short interactions between Mars and Rosé were analysed for signs of discomfort, though others interpreted the footage as friendly and informal. No direct evidence of discord emerged.

Further undermining the rumours, Mars shared a photograph the following day showing Rosé relaxed and smiling while eating pizza. The pair were also seen together at a West Hollywood after-party, appearing at ease in each other’s company.

The episode highlights how disappointment over awards outcomes can quickly evolve into online narratives targeting individual artists. While “APT” did not secure a Grammy, it opened the ceremony, performed strongly across platforms and appears not to have damaged the professional relationship between its collaborators.
