Classic Porsche 964 reborn as high-speed mini electric car

Car enthusiasts who have always dreamed of driving the classic Porsche 964 may now get a chance to experience a similar thrill through a unique miniature version of the iconic sports car developed by a Chinese automotive design studio.

The scaled-down electric vehicle offers the look and feel of the legendary model at a much more affordable price, attracting the attention of automobile lovers worldwide.

International reports indicate that the compact car has been designed not only as a visual replica but also as a fully functional vehicle capable of delivering an exciting driving experience despite its smaller size.

Scaled-down sports cars recently gained widespread attention after videos surfaced online showing drivers in Kuwait drifting the tiny vehicles, which resemble children’s toys but are powerful enough to perform impressive maneuvers.

The miniature cars are produced by a Shanghai-based studio that specializes in creating “junior” versions of famous sports cars. The company combines artistic design with automotive engineering to ensure the vehicles are not only visually striking but also fun to drive.

Powered by an electric motor ranging between 3,000W and 4,000W, the junior cars can reportedly reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. They feature rear-wheel drive, making them suitable for drifting, and include a realistic engine-sound simulator to recreate the sensation of driving a full-sized sports car.

The vehicles are about 2.2 meters long and can support a weight of up to 300 kilograms. An adjustable seating system allows drivers between 140 cm and 190 cm tall to sit comfortably, while buyers can customize the body color, decals, interior design, wheels, and rear wing according to their preferences.

Apart from the Porsche 964, the studio has also produced miniature versions of well-known models such as the Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86, Mazda RX‑7, and Nissan GT‑R R34. Prices for some junior models reportedly start at around $5,000, while the Porsche-inspired version is priced at approximately $8,800.

Whether these tiny high-performance vehicles are allowed on public roads depends largely on local regulations, but their unusual design and surprising capabilities have already made them a global curiosity among car enthusiasts.
