Christina Applegate is taking it slow and unfiltered as she continues to live with Multiple Schlerosis.

Applegate is opening up about what a typical day now looks like in her life, five years after being diagnosed with the disease.

The Married… With Children star spends most of her day lying in bed because it’s too painful for her to move around. But she still takes her daughter Sadie, 15, to school and activities.

“I want to take her; it’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we have together by ourselves,” Applegate told People. “I tell myself, ‘Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.’ And that’s what I do.”

The actress shares her daughter with her husband, musician Martyn LeNoble, 56.

“My life isn’t wrapped up with a bow,” Applegate remarked.

Her life with MS has made her accept that life can throw anything at you and that can suck.”

“People’s lives, sorry for lack of a better term, f—ing suck sometimes. So I’m being as honest and raw as I possibly can,” she said.

That is the philosophy she kept in mind while writing her memoir You With the Sad Eyes, in which she lays bare her challenging upbringing, teenage fame and longterm abusive relationships, as well as her battles with breast cancer and MS.

“We all have come from somewhere, some places more painful than others, and it’s what you do with it, I guess,” Applegate said of her memoir. “This is not an inspirational book, by any means. But it can inspire.”
