BIA fires back after Cardi B’s Beyoncé-style ‘mute challenge’ diss on Little Miss Drama Tour

The tension between the two stems from both artists sampling Missy Elliott’s track, with BIA releasing her song first

Cardi B incorporated a pointed lyrical moment into the opening night of her Little Miss Drama Tour, prompting comparisons to Beyoncé’s well-known “mute challenge”.

Performing in Palm Desert, California, on February 11, Cardi B delivered the opening line of her diss track “Pretty & Petty”, “Name five Bia songs, gun pointing to your head.” She then paused and looked at the crowd before adding, “Bow! I’m dead.”

Videos circulating online show the audience cheering during the silence, while her dancers dropped to the ground following a boom sound effect. The segment drew comparisons from fans to Beyoncé’s “mute challenge”, a recurring concert feature during performances of “Energy” in the Renaissance era. Cardi B herself was seen taking part in the challenge in the 2023 concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.

The tension between Cardi B and BIA stems from both artists sampling Missy Elliott’s hit “She’s a (Expletive)”, with BIA releasing her track first. Online discussion intensified as fans compared the two songs and accompanying visuals, leading to exchanges and indirect references across social media and in music.

On February 12, BIA responded to footage from the tour in a thread on X, writing, “Can u name someone with more bms than receiving yards? I can! and I know that… ykwnvm.” The remark appeared to reference Cardi B’s reported relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs, who recently lost the Super Bowl. The pair welcomed a son together last year.

The on-stage moment has further highlighted the ongoing rivalry, with both artists continuing to address the dispute through music and online commentary as Cardi B’s tour progresses.
