Arrest warrant issued for Musa Maneka in servant shooting case

SAHIWAL: Senior Civil Judge Masood Ahmed Faridi on Saturday issued an arrest warrant for Musa Maneka, the younger son of Khawar Maneka and Bushra Bibi, over his repeated absence from the court proceedings.

Mr Musa is the main accused in a case of a domestic servant over a minor dispute at his residence in the Pir Ghani area of Pakpattan on July 17, 2025.

The judge directed the Pakpattan Saddar Police to arrest Musa Maneka and present him before the court on November 19.

A case was registered against Mr Musa at the Saddar police station after getting enraged when his 18-year-old servant, Ali Bahadur, removed bedsheets from his room without his permission.

In a fit of anger, Musa allegedly fired a 30-bore pistol at Ali, hitting him in the left knee.

The bullet passed through his leg. Witnesses claimed that Mr Musa then threatened other household servants with similar consequences if they attempted to assist the injured servant.

A call was later made to the police, prompting District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Iqbal Chadhar and a team of the Saddar police to reach the scene.

DPO Chadhar reportedly confronted Musa Maneka and took him into custody and also recovered the weapon used in the incident.

Ali Bahadur, a resident of Chak Alam Hatayka, had been employed at the Maneka residence for the past two years. After the shooting, he was transported to the Pakpattan District Headquarters Hospital by Rescue 1122.

A case was registered against Musa at Saddar Police Station on the complaint of Ali’s father, Manzoor.

Musa Maneka is also a key suspect in a Rs113.1 million corruption case alongside his father Khawar Maneka and brother Ibrahim Maneka. Ibrahim has been declared an absconder after reportedly fleeing to Spain.

The case has been under investigation at the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) regional office for the past two years.

The Maneka trio, along with Excise Inspector Allah Nawaz, Patwari Muhammad Ashraf, and Auqaf Manager Shafqat, were named in a reference filed by the then Okara deputy commissioner on August 23, 2023.
