
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that Army Chief and Chief of Defence Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the National Police Academy, where he met senior police officers. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talha Chaudhry were also in attendance.
Upon arrival, the Field Marshal was warmly received by the Academy Commandant, and a guard of honor was presented by the police contingent.
He paid tribute at the Police Martyrs Monument, laying flowers and reciting Fatiha in honor of officers who sacrificed their lives to maintain law and order and protect citizens.
He praised the police for their dedication and bravery in the face of terrorism, crime, and internal security challenges.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on the School for High-Impact Elite Law Enforcement Development (SHIELD) and other programs aimed at modernizing and enhancing police capabilities.
He also met with Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), highlighting the police as the first line of defense in safeguarding citizens’ lives, property, and dignity.
Addressing the IG Police, Additional IG, and other senior officers, the Field Marshal stressed the importance of inter-agency cooperation, adoption of modern policing techniques, and strengthening public trust.
He stated, “A professional, capable, and citizen-friendly police force is indispensable for internal security and the enforcement of law. Upholding the law is a sacred duty, and the Armed Forces will always stand beside our brave and honorable police personnel.”
Senior police officials reaffirmed their commitment to modernizing policing standards, enhancing professional skills, and advancing institutional reforms in line with contemporary security challenges.
