Afghanistan’s Gurbaz and Nabi dismiss boycott rumours | The Express Tribune

Afghanistan cricket team members Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mohammad Nabi have reaffirmed their commitment to playing in Pakistan, firmly denying rumours of the Afghan team boycotting the Champions Trophy 2025.

Amidst widespread speculation about Afghanistan’s participation in the tournament, both players, currently competing in the Global T20 in Canada, have confirmed their availability and enthusiasm for the event.

Mohammad Nabi called on fans to disregard the unfounded rumours circulating on social media, asserting that such reports lack any basis. “We are excited to play in Pakistan and look forward to the Champions Trophy 2025,” Nabi stated.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz echoed these sentiments, expressing his gratitude for the support from Pakistani fans and highlighting his positive experiences in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). “The support from Pakistani fans has been overwhelming, and I am eager to play in Pakistan again,” Gurbaz said.

Both players stressed their eagerness to participate in matches hosted by Pakistan and their commitment to representing Afghanistan on the international stage.

Their statements aim to put to rest any concerns about Afghanistan’s involvement in the Champions Trophy 2025.
