Lily Rabe makes surprising confession about her Broadway comeback

Lily Rabe revealed what she “loved the most” about her theater return.

The Emmy-nominated actress is starring in the new production of Jon Robin Baitz’s stage play Other Desert Cities, as Brooke Wyeth.

However, in a recent interview with People Magazine, the star revealed that the play is going to be full of surprises, saying, “I think for anyone who hasn’t seen the play, they will be surprised.”

“I’ve had some people come to the play, really some of the smartest people I know, say, ‘I’ve always been able to see what was coming and I didn’t with this play,’” Lily added.

For those unaware, the role was originally played by Elizabeth Marvel in the drama’s off-Broadway production; moreover, it was later portrayed by Rachel Griffiths in 2011 in its Broadway debut.

On October 18, during the show’s opening night, Lily revealed that she always wanted to take on Brooke Wyeth’s character.

“I loved this play so much when I saw it, that I’ve always wanted to play this part,” she said at the time.

“It’s a real dream to get to do it and to get to do it with these people,” Lily continued. “It really does feel like a homecoming of sorts.”

“I love being a part of this community, and getting to do this play is such an honor,” she added further.

Now, the actress opened up about the part she enjoys most in her Broadway experience, “Oh, gosh. I love that you are never done with the process, that you just get to keep exploring the material until the day you close and that you get to experience it every night with your cast and with these incredible people who’ve come to see it.”

Noting, “And so it’s new every night and you discover things every night,”

“And I love being in the process. So the fact that you kind of just get to stay in that the whole time is I think the thing I love the most,” the American actress said further.

It is pertinent to mention here that Lily Rabe is returning to Broadway after almost a decade and a half.
