Years ago, Christina Applegate, an actress, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic disease of the nervous system.

However, the diagnosis she had in 2021 took a turn when the Bad Moms actress underwent a further round of tests, only to be informed that MS was a misdiagnosis.

Still, the misdiagnosis did not mean she would leave advocating the causes of MS community.

On the MeSsy podcast, which Applegate co-hosts, she said, “Even though I don’t have this disease, I’ve fallen in love with everyone that we know, our listeners, our friends that have MS.”

She doubled down on her support for the MS communiy, “I’m still your warrior, and I’m still going to speak out on your behalf forever and ever”, despite not having MS.

“I still feel like part of this community,” she said, adding, “No matter what, I love you.”

That said, Applegate — after it dawned on her that she was misdiagnosed — said she is in a state of confusion regarding her condition, which is currently unclear to her, as she is still facing a wide variety of symptoms.

She shared some of them, “I actually timed it today; it took me 10 minutes to be able to move off my pillow and get out of the bed and stand up, at which point I almost couldn’t walk to the bathroom, and now a walker is sitting next to my bed because of what’s going on.“

“I don’t know what’s going on. This is what I’m still living with, and I never had that before. I was able to sit up and stuff,” the star added.

Beyond the Applegates’ support for the MS community, it is fairly common to get MS misdiagnosed, according to Dr Marwa Kaisey of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre’s neurology department.
