Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s $5.35m Ohio property neighbours raise objections over 6-foot fence plan
The couple’s project team defended the renovations, emphasising the importance of privacy and security
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly faced objections from neighbours over renovation plans at their newly purchased Ohio property, including fencing and landscaping proposals.
According to the Daily Mail, a planning board in Bratenahl, near Cleveland, approved a 6-foot fence last month despite objections from some nearby residents.
Neighbour Katherine Bolton reportedly described the property purchase as a “tremendous blow” to “the peace and quiet in Bratenahl”.
She also raised concerns about plans to plant 50 evergreen trees near a century-old clay sewer line shared with her property.
“Planting 50 evergreen trees just ten feet from a 100-year-old clay sewer line is virtually guaranteed to cause severe root intrusion, pipe structural failure and catastrophic sewage backups,” Bolton reportedly told the board, according to the Daily Mail.
Bolton also questioned the potential consequences if the property were sold in the future, saying: “This applicant may decide to sell her house next year. What am I going to do when I have 50 evergreen trees on my sewer line, and they’re gone?”
Another neighbour reportedly raised concerns about the fence’s spear-shaped top, suggesting it could pose a risk to animals.
The couple’s project team defended the renovations, emphasising the importance of privacy and security.
Jacob Kutz of Tiny Construction, who is overseeing the work, said: “The house was one of the largest sales in Cuyahoga County, so the homeowner is looking for privacy and security.”
The Daily Mail reported that the board subsequently approved the front landscaping, subject to trees being positioned with sufficient space to grow.
Kelce reportedly purchased the lakefront estate for $5.35 million earlier this year, according to The Wall Street Journal.
