Simu Liu’s fiancée Allison Hsu celebrates bachelorette party in Mexico ahead of wedding

The bride-to-be marked the occasion with a series of bridal-inspired looks, including a statement embellished dress

Simu Liu and Allison Hsu are getting closer to saying “I do”, with Hsu celebrating her bachelorette party in Tulum, Mexico, ahead of the couple’s upcoming wedding.

Hsu, 30, shared photos from the celebration on Instagram on Tuesday, September 1, giving followers a glimpse at the multi-day getaway with her friends at a luxury resort. In one post, she wrote, “Miss to mrs with all my bitches,” alongside photos of herself and her friends.

The bride-to-be marked the occasion with a series of bridal-inspired looks, including a statement embellished dress featuring more than 1,000 hand-stitched shells, which appeared to be from Kilèntàr. She paired the look with a flowing fringed skirt and accessorised with mini veils and bridal sashes.

Hsu also shared photos of a mermaid-style maxi dress in another Instagram update, captioned simply with “🐚💍.” Liu, 37, responded to the post with a string of engagement ring emojis.

The bachelorette celebration comes shortly after Hsu’s bridal shower, which she hosted in August. On August 17, she shared photos from the outdoor event, calling it “the sweetest day I’ve ever had” and thanking the friends she described as her “beautiful and brilliant sisters”.

Among the guests at the bridal shower was singer and actress Reneé Rapp. The celebration featured an outdoor dining setup with pastel flowers and a menu that included burrata with peaches, charred asparagus, lemongrass chicken and French toast with whipped mascarpone and berries.

Hsu and Liu began dating in 2022 and announced their engagement in May 2025 after Liu proposed in Paris, France.

The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star previously opened up about the wedding planning process, joking that it had been a positive experience until he started discovering how much everything costs.

“I would say we’re at the point now where it’s probably my least favorite, it’s where I’m finding out how much everything costs,” Liu told PEOPLE in February. He added that regardless of the budget, “it’s always going to cost more than you think.”

Despite the costs, Liu said the wedding planning process had otherwise been “relatively pain-free and joyous”, with both he and Hsu agreeing that good music was one of their priorities for the celebration.

“You’re throwing a party with your best friends in the whole wide world,” Liu said, explaining that the wedding would be a chance to celebrate with their friends and family.

In November 2025, Liu described the planned wedding to Entertainment Tonight as “a lovely, intimate affair that maybe turns into some debauchery”.

With Hsu’s bachelorette party now underway, the couple’s wedding celebrations are officially gathering momentum as they prepare to begin married life together.
