Jamie Foxx confesses his expectations from 33-year-old daughter and her husband
Jamie Foxx wants his daughter Corinne to live closer to home, suggesting she move into his backyard.
During a recent podcast, Foxx, 58, and his daughter, 33, spoke about their close relationship and how they spend time together as a family.
Foxx shared that although Corinne is now married, he still hopes she’ll eventually move onto his large property, joking that he cleared out several acres specifically with her in mind.
“I’m trying to get her to move,” the Back in Action actor admitted during his appearance on Baby, This is Keke Palmer.
Corinne explained that while her father lives in the suburbs and she lives in the city, they still see each other regularly, including through their shared work hosting a game show together.
She acknowledged her father’s dream of eventually having their families live together on the same property, joking that despite his claims of giving her space, she believes he’d still show up frequently to check in.
“He wants me to move into the backyard,” Corinne said, to which the Ray star agreed with a smile.
He responded, “Exactly, but explain the backyard. It’s not … It’s 40 acres. So, I cleared out like 10 acres for her.”
Foxx playfully admitted that he’d likely want to make sure Corinne and her husband, Joe Hooten, were doing okay, even if it meant occasionally showing up unannounced.
In response, Corinne predicted a situation she sees as likely to happen if they ended up living in a “compound” together.
“But see, like he claims, ‘Oh, I’m not going to see you. I’m going to leave you alone.’ No, he’s going to be right there,” Corinne said, imitating him knocking at her door.
Foxx iterated that he would just want to see if Corinne and her husband were okay, to which Palmer quipped, “You are gonna bother them.”
Corinne and Joe got married last year at her family’s home, especially given her father’s health scare in 2023. She shared that walking down the aisle to a song connected to her father’s award-winning film role.
