Britney Spears reveals how 13-year conservatorship damaged her ‘heart and soul’
Britney Spears is sharing a deep reflection on how the 13-year conservatorship destroyed her “heart and soul.”
In February 2008, Los Angeles Superior Court placed Britney Spears under a conservatorship following her public mental health struggles and hospitalizations. Her career and multi-million dollar estate were then legally put under the control of her father, Jamie Spears and a co-conservator.
The princess of pop recalled these days and penned a note on her social media about how the more than a decade period of conservatorship changed her.
Britney looked back and admitted she actually missed the way she “respected people so much,” noting, “there was a genuine mystery of acute oneness when we were together, which was sacred.”
But it got shattered when she was hit with conservatorship, “I feel like, still to this day, people don’t realize the real damage that was done to my heart and soul in the conservatorship.”
Britney also shared that her shyness got to another level after she welcomed her sons, Jayden, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
The songstress confessed she “felt so silly and embarrassed” after giving birth.
Britney also reflected on her having shorter height compared to other celebs in the industry.
Referring to her video attached with the caption, she noted, “I’m actually extremely short. For some reason in paparazzi pics and in my living room, I seem to have very long legs. Maybe an illusion… the front of my house is the show stage!!!!! Yet backstage I look quite a bit different.”
However, when Britney met Shakira, who was “exactly” her size she “finally felt normal.”
“I always felt like the youngest and shortest person in the room. Then I met Shakira and she was exactly my size. We were honestly twins. It was insane,” Britney added.
