Travis Barker wishes his children do not adopt his toxic trait
Travis Barker hopes his children avoid the confrontational behaviour he displayed earlier in his career.
The Blink-182 drummer has reflected on how his attitude has changed over the years, admitting that he is no longer proud of some of his past reactions, particularly when dealing with paparazzi.
During an interview with The New York Times, Travis explained that he wants his children, particularly his son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, to learn from his experiences and block out the noise that comes with growing up in the public eye.
Both Landon and Alabama have followed their father into the entertainment industry and have significant online presences of their own.
“I lead by example,” Travis, 50, said. “I used to almost get in fights with paparazzi. I’m not proud of any of that stuff.”
The drummer acknowledged that he previously had a short temper when he felt he was being followed or provoked, but he now tries to take a different approach.
“I used to have a temper when it came to people following us or just dumb stuff, I might be quick to react or be confrontational,” he told the publication. “But I’m like, that ain’t it, babe. It’s just all noise. Stay running in the direction you’re running in.”
Travis Barker shares Landon, Alabama and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
He also has a two-year-old son Rocky with his wife Kourtney Kardashian, whom he married in 2022.
