Priyanka Chopra shares what makes her relationship with Nick Jonas work
Priyanka Chopra has spilled the beans on what she appreciates most about her husband of Nick Jonas, whom she’s been married to for eight years.
In a recent interview, the 44-year-old actress revealed that it Jonas’ respect for her Indian heritage has been one important factor. “I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t,” she told E! News.
She emphasised the need for mutual respect for each other’s roots, especially in a relationship between people from different cultural backgrounds.
“That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots.”
Chopra also credited kindness as an important part of keeping their relationship strong. “Being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important.”
Chopra and Jonas got married in 2018 and are parents to a young daughter, Malti.
Separately, Chopra spoke about her involvement as an executive producer on an upcoming documentary Cycle of Love, telling the real-life love story of a couple, P. K. Mahanandia and Lotta Von Schedvin, who traveled across countries decades ago to be together.
She shared how meaningful the story feels to her, especially since the couple’s children are now involved in producing the film themselves.
“Now they’ve been married for 50 years, and their kids are producing this movie with me. Everything about it is so heartwarming, and just makes me feel like, in this crazy world right now, it’s this ray of sunshine.”
