US President Donald Trump’s special assistant Natalie Harp worked at the White House for nearly a year without obtaining a security clearance, according to a report by MS Now.
Harp, is a former One America News Network host who has become a key gatekeeper to the US president, is facing renewed scrutiny over her role and access to Trump.
Attention intensified after Harp accompanied Trump when he reportedly used a service cart as a decoy to board another aircraft while senior officials remained behind.
Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff also targeted Harp during a rally in Atlanta on Sunday, prompting sharp responses from White House officials.
“It’s been amazing to watch this White House melt down over this all week,” Ossoff told MS Now on Wednesday.
“These White House staffers are adults, public officials paid by the taxpayer with immense power in positions of public trust,” he added.
White House communications director Steven Cheung responded to Ossoff on X with a personal attack, while spokesman Davis Ingle also criticised the senator.
