‘Severence’ star Adam Scott reveals awkward moment from daughter’s acting class
Adam Scott recently shared a funny and slightly awkward story about his daughter’s summer acting class experience.
The Severance star, 53, recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show, where he explained that his daughter, Frankie, who is about to enter her senior year of high school, attended an acting program in New York over the summer while he was filming there.
Scott shared that during her class, the teacher used a video of his old audition for The Office as an example of what not to do, comparing it to John Krasinski’s successful audition for the same role.
“He had no idea. But I’m just happy to know that in a prestigious acting class, I’m the subject of what not to do,” he joked.
However, he said his daughter felt embarrassed by the moment. “She was mortified,” Scott said.
After class, the teacher realised the connection when he noticed Frankie’s last name and put the pieces together. Scott said the teacher felt bad once he realised what had happened.
Krasinski went on to star as Jim Halpert on The Office for several years, while Scott later found success starring in the workplace comedy Parks and Recreation.
Scott shares Frankie and a son with his wife, whom he married in 2005.
He has joked in the past that his kids aren’t exactly huge fans of his acting work. He shared that they only recently started watching Severance and have never watched some of his earlier shows.
“They’ve never seen Parks and Rec or Party Down or anything else. So it’s just great that I can … I can’t count them as fans, but I can at least count them as viewers,” he said, further sharing that his children help “keep [him] humble.”
