Keith Urban waiting for Nicole Kidman to make first move after divorce?
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have remained tight-lipped about their dating lives, but insiders claim that they seem to be playing “cat and mouse game” following their divorce.
The exes are playing it safe when it comes to dating and neither of them want to make the first move after their split in 2025, according to Radar Online.
Notably, the Oscar-winning actress has been seen with a private equity investor Michael Reinstein in Italy, enjoying drinks by the pool which sparks dating rumors. But, the speculations have not been confirmed by her.
Speaking about Keith, an insider revealed to the outlet that the Grammy-winning star does not want to be portrayed as a villain which is why he is not making first move publicly.
The source said, “It’s become this cat-and-mouse game because Keith does not want to be the one who goes public with someone before Nicole does. He took such a beating when people started linking him to other women after the split. It was horrible.”
Adding, “It’s no wonder he’s been afraid to let anything about his private life get out. He doesn’t want to be seen as this huge villain. It’s pretty similar to what Nicole’s been doing herself, keeping everyone guessing while she quietly gets on with her life.”
“Among their friends it’s common knowledge they’ve both been moving on in their own ways. They’ve just been very stealthy about it,” the insider further revealed.
Moreover, before their divorce being finalized in January, 2026, the country music star was heavily criticised all across the internet over widespread rumors of dating two younger musicians.
The source continued, “But the moment Nicole confirms a new romance, whether it’s with this guy [Reinstein] she’s now linked with or someone else, Keith will be more than happy to do the same.”
Noting, “He’ll actually be relieved because then he won’t have to keep looking over his shoulder or worrying about being painted as the bad guy all over again.”
It is pertinent to mention that the former couple was married in 2006 and were together for almost 20 years.
