Cristiano Ronaldo makes TV debut with football drama ‘Day Is’

After conquering football’s biggest stages, Cristiano Ronaldo is now stepping into a new arena television.

The Portuguese superstar is making his scripted TV debut with ‘Day Is’, a football drama that takes viewers behind the scenes of the sport’s high-stakes world of agents, negotiations, and power struggles.

The project marks a new chapter for Ronaldo, who will take on roles both in front of and behind the camera as an executive producer and cast member, expanding his growing influence beyond the football field.

Ronaldo will serve as both an executive producer and an on-screen talent in ‘Day Is’, marking his first major involvement in a scripted television production.

The football icon will appear alongside former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry, while British actor Damian Lewis will lead the cast as Stanley Dalton, a fictional elite football agent.

The series is being produced by UR Marv Studios, a production company co-founded by Ronaldo and British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, who is known for directing the “Kingsman” and “Kick-Ass” film franchises.

Ronaldo described the project as an “exciting chapter” in his career, highlighting his interest in exploring creative ventures beyond football.

Created by football agent Darren Dein, who is also serving as an executive producer, ‘Day Is’ will focus on the powerful world of football agents and the decisions that shape the modern game away from the pitch.

The series aims to provide a realistic look at the business side of elite football, including negotiations, influence, and the challenges faced by those working behind the scenes.

Filming is reportedly underway at Barnet FC’s stadium in north-west London. The cast is also expected to include British rapper Dave and newcomer Carlotta Banat.

With football’s massive global audience and Ronaldo’s international popularity, the drama is expected to attract attention from major streaming platforms.

The television project adds to Ronaldo’s growing list of ventures outside football.

Through UR Marv Studios, launched with Matthew Vaughn, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is expanding into entertainment while continuing his career with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team.

The studio has previously announced plans to develop sports-related films and explore new approaches to storytelling by combining traditional production with modern technology.

Unlike Ronaldo’s previous appearances in documentaries and advertising campaigns, ‘Day Is’ will mark his first major scripted television role, allowing him to contribute both as a performer and producer.

Ronaldo has built one of the most successful careers in football history, winning multiple trophies during his time with Real Madrid and Manchester United before moving to Al-Nassr in 2023.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, the Portuguese star has increasingly focused on building his brand beyond football through business, media, and entertainment projects.
