Fetty Wap gets engaged to girlfriend Alexis after private proposal
The engagement follows the ‘Trap Queen’ rapper’s release from prison and new album launch earlier this year
Fetty Wap has announced his engagement to his girlfriend, Alexis, after a private proposal that the couple shared with fans on social media.
According to details shared by Alexis on Instagram, she accepted the rapper’s proposal on July 20, posting a collection of photos and videos capturing the moment. The footage showed Fetty Wap getting down on one knee before presenting her with a diamond engagement ring.
The post also included close-up images of the ring and photographs of the couple embracing in front of a pink floral heart display featuring an illuminated “Will You Marry Me” sign. Alexis kept her announcement brief, writing, “I said yes!” alongside a diamond ring emoji.
The engagement marks a significant milestone for the couple, who have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Alexis maintains a relatively low profile online, with her social media focusing mainly on fashion, lifestyle and nightlife content from New York City and New Jersey.
Because Fetty Wap has rarely spoken publicly about the relationship, the announcement came as a surprise to many fans, with congratulations quickly filling the comments section.
The engagement comes during an active period in the rapper’s life.
Earlier this year, on January 8, he secured an early release from federal prison after serving over 3 years of a 6-year sentence for drug charges. He shifted to home confinement under strict supervised release conditions.
Fetty Wap also released his fourth studio album, Zavier, on March 27 and launched his Nostalgia Tour in June.
The tour continues with a performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on July 25 before concluding in Denver on December 6.
The rapper has also partnered with Jimmy John’s to launch the limited-time “#1738 Fetty W(r)ap Meal”, while continuing to celebrate the enduring popularity of his 2015 breakthrough hit, “Trap Queen”, which has found a new audience alongside longtime fans.
