King Charles has continued to carry out his royal duties despite predictions made by celebrity psychic John Hughes in 2022 that he would abdicate the throne.
At the time, Hughes made several predictions about the future of the British royal family, including King Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Four years later, despite being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles remains on the throne and continues to perform his royal duties.
Speaking to Birmingham Live in 2022, Hughes predicted that King Charles would step down within seven years.
He said Charles did not want to spend millions of pounds on a state funeral and believed Prince William would become king within the next seven years.
Hughes also claimed Queen Elizabeth II could not abdicate because she could not walk away from the challenges she faced, including issues involving Prince Andrew and Princess Diana.
He further said he believed King Charles would not be able to fill his mother’s role because of the responsibilities involved. According to Hughes, Charles would instead reshape the royal family and pass the throne to a younger king.
King Charles has been receiving treatment for cancer since he was diagnosed in February 2024.
Despite his ongoing treatment, he has remained in his position and continues to perform his royal duties, despite speculation that he would abdicate.
Abdication has long been considered a sensitive subject within the British royal family following King Edward VIII’s decision to give up the throne in 1936, according to reports.
