What is Aegon Targaryen’s plan being burned in ‘House of the Dragon’?

Last House of the Dragon season, monarch Aegon Targaryen was full of himself. Out of hubris, he flew into the battle, only to be burnt by his younger brother Aemond’s mighty dragon Vhagar.
But now Tom Glynn-Carney, the star who portrays the fleeing king, says the attack was a “catalytic moment in his trajectory”.
Aegon, the actor says, has two targets in mind: his brother Aemond and Queen Rhaenyra.
“There’s an interesting dynamic there with the feelings that he has towards Rhaenyra and the feelings that he has towards Aemond, and they’re both kind of vying for the top spot,” he tells People.
While winning back the crown remains Aegon’s ultimate goal, the actor admitted Aemond has become his character’s most urgent enemy.
Given the situation, Glynn-Carney shares Aegon’s main plan: “He has to be regaining the Iron Throne, regaining power, and getting what is rightfully his.”
However, for him, Aemond has become the most urgent enemy to be dealt with.
“But right now Aemond feels more like a pressing matter,” the actor shares.
Glynn-Carney continues, “He’s the more urgent issue at the moment because he’s the one actually making waves to try and find Aegon and do him some damage, and it’s whoever gets to the other person first, I guess.”
House of the Dragon is streaming on HBO Max.
