Redmi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro will launch in China on July 14.
The company previously announced that the Redmi Note 17 series would debut this month. It has now revealed the official launch date, along with the design and several key features, ahead of the launch event.
Since Redmi typically releases its smartphones in international markets a few months after their debut in China, the Redmi Note 17 series is expected to arrive in other markets, including Pakistan, later this year or early next year.
Official teaser images show the standard Redmi Note 17 will feature a single rear camera housed in a square-shaped camera module. The Redmi Note 17 Pro appears to feature two rear cameras housed in a similar camera module.
Redmi has also introduced a new Clear Blue color option for the Pro model. The company has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
It will also carry an IP69K rating, providing protection against dust and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.
According to a recent leak, the standard Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch display powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor. The phone is also rumored to feature a 9,000 mAh battery and a 50-megapixel main rear camera.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is expected to share many of the same core specifications but could replace the 50-megapixel main camera with a higher-resolution 200-megapixel sensor.
Redmi has not officially confirmed these specifications, so they should be considered unverified until the launch event. The company has also not announced pricing or full availability details for either smartphone.
Redmi is expected to reveal the complete specifications, available configurations and pricing during the launch event in China on July 14.
