Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce marry in lavish New York City wedding at MSG

A-list guests, custom Dior designs and thousands of cheering fans turned the private ceremony into a global spectacle

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married after exchanging vows during a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3. The wedding, confirmed by Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine, marked the culmination of months of speculation surrounding one of entertainment and sport’s most high profile couples.

The celebration transformed the iconic arena into an exclusive wedding venue, with streets surrounding Madison Square Garden temporarily closed and security tightened as hundreds of guests arrived throughout the afternoon. Thousands of fans gathered outside in the summer heat, hoping to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds or the many celebrities attending what has already been described as one of the biggest celebrity weddings in recent memory.

According to Paine, both Swift and Kelce wore custom Christian Dior wedding attire created by Jonathan Anderson, who worked closely with the couple on their ceremony looks. The bride also wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes alongside Cartier jewellery, while Kelce complemented the elegant theme with matching Dior tailoring. Rather than traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple chose family members for key roles, with Austin Swift serving as man of honour and Jason Kelce standing beside his younger brother as best man.

The ceremony itself was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, adding another unexpected but memorable detail to the occasion. Large digital displays outside Madison Square Garden illuminated with the message “JUST&T MARRIED”, referencing the initials of Taylor and Travis, while the venue glowed in shades of pink and lavender following the ceremony.

The festivities extended over two days. A smaller gathering, believed to have welcomed around 100 guests, took place on July 2 after city permits described the function simply as a pre party. The main wedding celebration on July 3 expanded dramatically, with a constant procession of blacked out vehicles delivering guests beneath temporary tents that shielded arrivals from waiting photographers and crowds.

Among those seen attending were Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Benson Boone, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis and television presenter Graham Norton. Several of Kelce’s teammates also attended, alongside longtime Swift collaborators and close friends.

Some climbed scaffolding for a better view as police maintained extensive security around the venue. The celebration drew international media coverage and prompted widespread discussion across social media as images from outside the arena circulated worldwide.

The singer has called the city home since 2014, when she purchased neighbouring Tribeca properties that she later combined into a single residence. Her affection for New York famously inspired 1989 track “Welcome to New York”, making the city a fitting backdrop for one of the biggest milestones of her personal life.

Ahead of the celebrations, Swift and Kelce also donated a reported $26m to more than 20 charities, although the donations were announced independently without referencing their wedding plans. Industry observers estimate the extensive venue hire, security arrangements, production and guest experience likely placed the total cost of the celebration among the most expensive celebrity weddings ever staged.

After years of public appearances, sold out concerts, championship victories and global attention, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have now begun a new chapter together as husband and wife, with their New York wedding becoming one of the defining celebrity events of 2026.
