Louis Partridge faces backlash for ‘condescending’ attitude towards Millie Bobby Brown in awkward interview

Fans criticised Partridge’s remarks to his ‘Enola Holmes 3’ co-star, while others defended their long-standing bond
Louis Partridge has faced criticism on social media after an interview with Millie Bobby Brown prompted some viewers to describe his comments as “condescending” during the pair’s promotional tour for Enola Holmes 3.
The discussion began after an interview with PopSugar in which the co-stars were asked to name their songs of the summer. Brown responded by singing Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun”.
Partridge replied, “What’s that?” After Brown identified the artist, he said, “You say that like it’s obvious.”
He then added, “I’m trying to think of something pop-y, for you to get your head around.”
After mentioning Audrey Hobert’s “Sue Me”, Partridge continued, “I mean, that was probably last summer, but that’s within your realm; I can’t choose a song.”
The exchange quickly circulated on X, with some users arguing that Partridge’s tone and comments towards Brown appeared dismissive.
Several posts described his remarks as rude, while others questioned why he had spoken to his co-star in that way.
However, other social media users defended the interaction, suggesting the pair were simply displaying the familiar dynamic of a long-standing friendship rather than exchanging genuine insults.
Brown has previously compared their relationship to that of siblings.
In an interview with the BBC, she said, “People will say to me, ‘I just met Louis Partridge and I had a really interesting conversation, he’s a really smart guy. I’m like, who? Louis Partridge is a smart guy? When?’ We definitely regress into our younger selves.”
Partridge echoed that view, adding, “We were just remarking that we look like brother and sister. There’s definitely a bit of that relationship between us.”
