Druski joins Emma Stone and Chris Pine in Universal Pictures’ rom-com ‘The Catch’

The comedian and actor is set to play Stone’s security guard in the project directed by Dave McCary

Druski has joined the cast of Universal Pictures’ upcoming romantic comedy The Catch, starring Emma Stone and Chris Pine, according to Deadline.

The comedian and actor is the latest addition to the project, which is being directed by Dave McCary and is scheduled for release on May 21, 2027. Ashley Padilla has also recently joined the film’s ensemble cast.

While plot details remain under wraps, sources describe The Catch as a baseball-themed romantic comedy in the tradition of Bull Durham and Notting Hill. Druski is reportedly set to play Stone’s security guard.

The screenplay’s most recent draft was written by Jen Statsky and Travis Helwig, based on an original spec script by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin.

Production is being led by Stone, McCary and Ali Herting through Fruit Tree’s first-look agreement with Universal Pictures.

Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing through 21 Laps, while Michael H. Weber is also attached as a producer. Universal executives Erik Baiers and Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the studio.

The casting marks another major film role for Druski, who previously appeared in Universal’s Praise This. The social media star and comedian has continued to expand his presence in film and television as his profile grows beyond online entertainment.

Outside of acting, Druski is preparing to host the 2026 BET Awards, which will air live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on June 28. He will reportedly become the youngest host in the event’s 25-year history.
