PIA on Sunday launched its post-Hajj operation for Karachi as the first flight carrying returning pilgrims arrived from Jeddah with more than 100 Hajjis on board.
The pilgrims arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on flight PK-860, marking the beginning of PIA’s post-Hajj repatriation operation for the city. The returning pilgrims were received by PIA Karachi Station Manager Javed Pechuho, District Sales Manager Omar Khan and other airline officials, who welcomed them with flowers.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, several pilgrims said they had offered special prayers during Hajj for Pakistan, its economy and national institutions. We prayed for the progress and prosperity of our country, its economy and all its institutions,” one pilgrim said.
A large number of family members and relatives gathered at the airport carrying bouquets to welcome their loved ones back home after the pilgrimage.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, special arrangements have been made at airports across the country to facilitate the post-Hajj operation.
