HBO series finale seals Rue, Cassie, Maddy and Ali’s fate

HBO’s ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 finale sees a major death, a revenge mission and an OnlyFans venture
The Season 3 finale of Euphoria delivered major turning points for its central characters, culminating in the death of Rue Bennett and a violent reckoning that reshapes the lives of those closest to her.
After escaping Laurie’s compound during a DEA raid, Rue briefly appears to have found a path forward. Rescued by G and later taken in by Ali, she receives painkillers from Alamo, who warns her, “That’s for the physical pain. Not that shit up in your head.” However, the warning proves tragically prophetic.
While staying with Ali, Rue enters a manic state and experiences a vision of reconciliation with her estranged mother, Leslie.
The sequence is later revealed to be the final thoughts of a dying woman. Ali discovers Rue dead on his sofa and, after testing her pills for fentanyl, confirms the devastating truth before informing Leslie.
Months later, Ali remains consumed by grief. Leaving his recovery programme behind, he pursues Alamo and confronts him in a tense showdown at the crime boss’s nightclub. After Alamo attempts to manipulate the duel in his favour, Ali ultimately shoots and kills him, avenging Rue’s death.
Elsewhere, Maddy appears to regain her freedom following Alamo’s demise. Cassie, still struggling with the emotional aftermath of Nate’s death, plans to transform their mansion into a content house for OnlyFans creators. Although she projects confidence, her private grief remains unresolved.
The episode closes on a reflective note as Ali visits the family who once helped Rue. During a prayer, he imagines her smiling peacefully across the dinner table. Rue’s final voiceover concludes the series chapter, “May God bless us all.”
