Pakistan railways temporarily suspends right trains

Pakistan Railways has temporarily stopped the operation of eight passenger trains due to rising expenses and a decline in passenger numbers on several routes.

The suspended trains include Bolan Mail, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, Mehran Express, Chaman Passenger, Marvi Express, Saman Sarkar Express, Mohen-jo-Daro Express and Ravi Express.

According to a railway spokesperson, the decision was made because increasing operational costs have made it difficult to continue running these services.

Railway officials said higher fuel prices, especially after recent increases in petroleum rates, have added to the financial burden. Low passenger turnout on some routes has also contributed to the decision.

Officials clarified that the suspension is temporary and that the affected train services will be restored when operating conditions improve. Pakistan Railways is currently assessing fuel costs and passenger demand before deciding when to resume the suspended routes.
