“Youm-e-Takbeer” is being observed today in remembrance of nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan on May 28, 1998, which made the defence of the country invincible its also marks a historic day that symbolizes the country’s strong defence, national sovereignty and strategic strength.
Pakistan conducted successful nuclear tests in Chagai and emerged as a nuclear power on May 28, 1998. The achievement is widely regarded as a defining moment in the country’s history and a reaffirmation of its commitment to national security.
With the successful tests in Chagai, Pakistan became the world’s seventh nuclear power and the first nuclear state in the Muslim world.
The chants of “Allah o Akbar” that echoed through the mountains of Chagai symbolized the nation’s determination to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
Pakistan’s nuclear programme is considered a key element of the country’s defence strategy and is viewed as having established a credible deterrent while maintaining strategic balance in the region.
Youm-e-Takbeer is observed each year as a reminder of Pakistan’s independent decision-making, commitment to national security and enduring defence capabilities.
