Field Marshal Asim Munir Iran’s visit resulted in encouraging progress towards regional peace

Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s sincere role in promoting peaceful settlement of regional issues.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir’s meetings with Iran’s top civil and military leadership during his visit to Iran have resulted in “encouraging progress towards regional peace”.

Field Marshal Asim Munir completed a short but important official visit to Iran, where he held high-level meetings with Iranian leaders as part of ongoing efforts to promote regional peace and reduce tensions, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.

During his 24-hour visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.

Official statements said the talks were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with discussions mainly focused on reaching a regional stability agreement. Authorities added that the diplomatic engagements over the past 24 hours showed encouraging progress toward a final understanding.

The Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s sincere and constructive role in facilitating dialogue and promoting peaceful settlement of regional issues.
