Nine terrorists killed, four CTD personnel martyred in Quetta operation

Four CTD personnel lost their lives and six others were injured during operation.

At least nine terrorists were killed during an operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department on the outskirts of Quetta, while four CTD personnel were martyred.

The operation took place in the Panjpai and Nohsar areas near Quetta. Officials said security forces engaged terrorists in an exchange of fire, during which nine militants were killed. Four CTD personnel lost their lives and six others were injured during the operation.

The development came only hours after law enforcement agencies conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 15 terrorists were killed and more than 10 others injured.

One police officer was also martyred in the operation carried out within the jurisdiction of Thana Miryan, while another officer was injured and shifted to hospital for treatment.

During the Bannu operation, security forces recovered a 10-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED), which was safely defused.
